Locals Surprised, Tickets Sell Out Quickly to See Rapper Nelly in Waco
Grammy award winning artist, Nelly is hitting the stage in Waco for one night only.
According to the Backyard Bar Stage and Grill, Nelly will be performing live in Waco, Friday May 7, at 8:30 PM, but after only 12 hours, tickets to the event were completely sold out.
Based on the comments the venue was receiving, locals were astounded that the Country Grammar rapper would be coming to little ol' Waco. Throughout the years we've seen Waco growing in numbers, but it still came as a shock that a celebrity of Nelly's caliber would be gracing Wacoans with his presence.
Yet others remained unimpressed, and felt that Nelly hit his peak in 2004, the same year that he performed in the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show. Sure Nelly hasn't dropped an album since his 2013 M.O. but that doesn't mean he's completely disappeared from the scene.
Just in 2020 Nelly was a contestant on Dancing with The Stars, and Nelly also released the song Lil Bit a collaboration with Florida Georgia Line slated to be on his "country-influenced" EP titled The Heartland. Nelly also hopped on remixes with Kane Brown and Brett Kissel for their songs, Cool Again and She Drives Me Crazy.
I'm positive it cost the venue a pretty penny to book Nelly, so tickets weren't exactly as cheap as others thought they should've been. Tickets were $83 with a $7 surcharge fee, and the prices had some second thinking. Unfortunately for them they didn't have long to ponder because tickets sold out the same day that they were announced.
Were you lucky enough to get tickets? Will you be at the show with Air Force Ones, a grill, and a band-aid?
