Long Week at Work Leads to Bad Fashion Choices for Run to the Store
It was later in the evening this past Saturday that a quick trip to Wal-Mart very nearly led to my inclusion on the People of Wal-Mart website.
Truthfully, it had been a long day, a long week, a long year even, and I was rushing out the door in the dark. I should have turned the light on when it came time to put my shoes on, but the thought never crossed my mind at the time. After all, how often does one leave the house with two separate shoes on their feet?
All I needed were Christmas lights and a basketball pump, but it nearly became so much more serious of a situation when I discovered, halfway back to the sports section, that I had on one brown shoe and one black shoe. I first discovered this when I noticed I was walking with a little bit of difficulty. When I looked down to see the two different shoes, I almost LOL'd.
Once my LOL moment came to an end I became worried. Would my bad fashion be noticed by someone? True, it's not like some of the bad fashion choices we've all seen at Wal-Mart, but to me it was as bad as it gets. I quickened my pace so that no one would have the time to get my shoes in focus before I'd scurried away to safety. I've never walked so quickly through Wal-Mart in my life.
All I need is to get an email from a friend telling me I'm on one of the websites that make fun of people at Wal-Mart. I believe it's called People of Wal-Mart. It's very disturbing, and I don't want to be one of those people. Next time, I'm putting on my shoes with the lights turned on.
