
Missing Mexia, Texas Woman’s Remains Now Found, Sailor In Custody
Mexia, Texas is mourning the loss of a daughter who's body was found outside a naval base in Virginia after being reported missing a few days earlier. When it was first reported back to the family of Sailor Angelina Resendiz was reported missing on June 3rd, her mother in Mexia hopped the first plane she could from Texas to actively join the search for her missing daughter.

As a father or three, I can't help but put myself in the shoes of the family upon hearing their 21 year old daughter who is serving in the United States Navy went missing from the Naval Station Norfolk after last being seen in her barracks. You also sympathize with their disbelief that news of their daughter's unknown whereabouts came to them via social media and friends instead of directly from the Department of the Navy.
Mexia, Texas Family Demands Answers: Angelina Resendiz Found Dead
Sadly, a body found just a couple of days ago has now been positively identified as Sailor Resendiz, but the closure is not complete for her family who still has way more questions than answers. Many of those answers may not be known until the court proceedings move forward for the Navy personnel that is now in custody.

According to this KCEN article, an autopsy is being conducted and the survivors of Resendiz's family have vowed to make sure not only is justice served in her honor, but also changes to the way the family was notified.
