The new distribution center will have a positive impact on the local economy and bring about 100 new jobs to the area.

As the city of Temple continues to grow, more and more businesses are looking in our area for their own expansion. Meta and FedEx are two major companies that have both announced new sites within the city limits, and now H-E-B has announced they'll be building a new distribution center that will bring over 100 new jobs to the city.

According to a press release from the Temple Economic Development Corporation, the new 325,000 sq. ft. facility will be an automated frozen distribution line and will be built along their current facility.

H-E-B’s Temple Distribution warehouse has been operating since 2010 and serves more than 100 stores from Austin to Dallas

Adrian Cannady, President and CEO of Temple Economic Development Corporation, said in the press release,

It is our privilege to continue to work with H-E-B as they grow their presence in Temple, Texas. H-E-B has seen many cycles of growth and expansion throughout their time in Temple and we are proud of the opportunities they continue to bring to our region. This expansion project, paired with Temple’s strategic location and immediate access to I-35, will work to strengthen H-E-B’s operations in Texas.

The company is in the permit stage of the expansion, with construction slated to begin by the end of 2022. The project is expected to be completed in 2024.
