Fishing Soon To Be Catching At New Belton, Texas Dock
Now that the Killeen-Temple, Texas area is no longer attempting to reenact Dante's Inferno and the weather has begun cooperating enough for sustained outdoor fun, the fall has always been the best time to enjoy a long day on the water fishing. During the summer you have to be up before sunrise because the fish, just like humans, prefer to hide from the scorching heat.
That is the main reason I am so excited to see Heritage Park has added a covered fishing dock just in time for the best fishing season of the year. In addition to the brand new fishing dock, there is also a beautiful and accessible launch site for canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, and other small water craft.
What else is going on at Heritage Park in Belton, Texas?
To celebrate and welcome the new fishing dock to be enjoyed for generations to come, and also showcase the additional amenities the Belton Lions Club has played a part of adding to Heritage Park like the accessible playground, there is going to be a Picnic in the Park celebration featuring the "Wacky Boat Race," that is free for everyone to attend on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
This will be an all day event from 11 AM until 5 PM with inflatables, dunk tank, food trucks, vendors, miniature pony rides, face painting and pumpkin decorating. All money raised will be used to fund Belton Lions Club projects like Texas Lions Camp for Children with Special Needs, scholarships, and vision projects.
