A new bill would ban food stamp recipients from buying junk food such as energy drinks candy chips and cookies.

FOX 26 in Houston reports that According to House Bill 436, SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) recipients would not be allowed to buy energy drinks, containing 65 milligrams of caffeine, sweetened beverages where artificial sweetener is added, candy, potato, and corn chips and cookies.

I’m not sure why this has been proposed but if this is an effort to force Texans to eat healthily and cut out junk food from their diet, are they going to make healthier food cheaper?

Hmmmmm...
