
Temple Citizens Fear An Arsonist Is Targeting Their Community
The city of Temple, Texas has had some strange occurrences recently, mainly concerning property damage. Fires have started at random in a certain area of the city, leaving many with one major question. Is there an arsonist in Temple, or are these nothing more than coincidence?
When Did Fires First Begin In Temple, Texas?
According to KWTX, it all began on September 19th, 2025. Temple Fire and Rescue were alerted to situation near Old Howard Road at 4:30 in the morning. When they made it on scene, they found a significant amount of hay bales burning.

However, this is much more than just hay bales catching fires. Other calls have place about fires in the area, per Temple Fire and Rescue's Public Information Officer, Santos Soto:
“There have been a couple other ones in the area...I know in addition to the hay bales that were on fire, there was also I believe and old structure the guys responded to.”

But, one person in the city of Temple believes someone is behind these fires, and that they're not natural.
Who In Temple Believes The Fires Are Being Started By Somebody?
On social media, Jessie Oestreich, who's the property owner's daughter of where the hay bales burned, said the following:
“Super frustrated that we have such a small close-knit community and someone is going around and doing this in the midst of neighbors, people, family, and animals.”
While it is unknown if there truly is an arsonist in Temple, Santos Soto agrees the fires a major issue:
“Obviously it can damage and destroy people’s property...It can damage and destroy people’s houses. You know, arson is a crime. If anybody has any information on any of that stuff, obviously that can report that.”
At the time of writing, the State Fire Marshall’s Office has begun inquires into the situation. As this a developing story, we will have more information if it becomes available.
