Quiet on the set! Yellowstone’s ‘1883’ Filming in Texas Panhandle
The Yellowstone prequel "1883" was seen filming in Amarillo, Texas.
"Yellowstone" season 4 debuted to a record audience in early November, with a reported 14.7 million viewers tuning in. That makes it the most watched season premier since the season premiere of "The Walking Dead" in 2017.
At the moment, Yellowstone is the most popular tv show of 2021, but its success has been building over the last couple of years - so much so that a Yellowstone prequel is set to debut in December 19. It's called "1883", and according to Paramount's website, it's a Yellowstone origin story that follows the Dutton family west through the Great Plains and settling in Montana.
"1883" has an all-star cast with Sam Elliot, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill leading the way. The show is being filmed is a couple of different places, and most recently in Amarillo, Texas.
The Concho Valley Homepage reports that social media was ablaze with with actors from the show spotted in various Amarillo businesses earlier in the week. The Amarillo Convention & Visitors’ Bureau did confirm that filming in the area is happening and that it is for "1883."
Sam Elliot play Shae Breenan who, according to Taste of Country Nights, leads the wagon expedition to Montana. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill play James and Margaret Dutton.
The show has been filming in various locations in Texas including Fort Worth in September and most recently Amarillo.
