Renegade Classics In Temple, Texas To Hold Breast Cancer Awareness Event
Breast cancer is a disease that affects many women and men in the country. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 1 in 8 women will develop the disease. It is also the most common cancer in women, encompassing 30% of cancer diagnoses in females. Statistics also show that in 2022, 2,710 men will also be diagnosed with breast cancer.
With so many people contracting to the disease, many rallying efforts have been started to help find a cure for cancer. Fundraising has been a main source to help lead the way to find a cure. Especially during the 10th month of the year, October.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
First starting in the year 1985, movements began to help find a cure. Many organizations, such as Susan G. Komen, help to fund the fight against breast cancer. However, there are also efforts undertaken by businesses right here in Central Texas.
One such business in Temple will not only have a grand opening, but will also be raising money in the fight against breast cancer.
Renegade Classics October Event
A new business in the great state of Texas, Renegade Classics will be holding an event on October 1st. When reached for comment, Renegade Classics stated:
"The plan is to have as many people come out as possible, not to support the shop but to support the cause. All proceeds from sales of anything pink (ribbon, color accent, or just contains the color) will go to either charity of choice of those that purchase or the charity we designated. Any ribbon purchased proceeds goes to the corresponding charity it symbolizes every day, but we want to focus on breast cancer for this event. We will be raffling off multiple items that will also have proceeds donated (1 for $1 or 6 for $5) including, boots, vests, helmets, $100 gas card and $100 gift card to lakeside liquors. This is our grand opening so we will be getting our name out there, but our focus is on a cure. We will also have food trucks, music, and games. We are a child/family friendly shop so all are welcome."
So this is a chance for bikers in Central Texas to both support a great cause, but check out a new business as well.
