Return Policies — Good and Bad
Shopping at the last minute for Christmas? Check your store's return policy before you finalize your purchases. Some stores have better policies than others.
Even the greatest of gift-givers sometimes buys the wrong size or duplicates a gift at Christmas, but if you shop at the right stores your recipient may have an easier time with the return.
Stores you'll want to wary of include Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Sears, and online retailers like Amazon and Overstock. The online retailers sometimes charge a re-stocking fee, and the other stores have return policies that differ from item to item.
At this point, last-minute shopping will likely be an advantage for your recipient. Just remember it's always a good idea to accept the gift receipt no matter how much you think they will love it.
