If you've got company headed your way, preparing this dessert is a Lone Star treat sure to please! There's Pecan Pie. And then there's this.

Since pecans are the state nut, ya can't go wrong serving up some Texas Pecan Pie Pound cake. Just make sure ya got a scoop of Blue Bell ready on the side! This recipe from Texas Hill Country has its inhabitants going "nuts" over the delicious baked goodness that is the Pecan Pie Pound Cake.

What you need:

  • 4 sticks of butter
  • 4 cups of sugar
  • 4 cups of flower (all purpose)
  • 8 large eggs
  • 8oz. cream cheese
  • 2-3 tsp of vanilla flavoring
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 jar of carmel ice cream topping
Start by adding your butter, cream cheese, and sugar together in a mixer until it's good and smooth. Add your eggs one at a time, then flower (1 cup at a time), lastly your vanilla flavor.
Grease up your Bundt cake pan, add the batter, then sprinkle mix of  brown sugar and pecans on top and press them into the batter just a bit. Bake at 300 degrees for 75 minutes. Next, Up the oven's temp to 325 and bake for another 30 minutes.
Let this delicious dish cool so that it comes out of the cake pan easier.
Place on a plate, and drizzle your jar of caramel ice cream topping onto the cake. The heat will help melt the caramel goodness all over the pecans.
