A bill including the purchase of alcohol on Sunday mornings was approved by the Texas House this week.

The changes affect licensed retailers such as bars, restaurants, and grocery stores and will allow alcohol sales to begin at 10 am, before anything prior to noon was prohibited. You can get a beer or wine, but liquor stores will remain closed Sundays.

There have been a handful of loopholes in the rules before. Such as country clubs being allowed to sell mimosas at 10 am.

Texas is surprisingly a little late to the party and is the 36th state to pass laws allowing Sunday morning sales. This could change so much, imagine if certain churches get an alcohol license, communion would never be the same. They might need some extra collection plates. Probably won't happen, but hey it could.
