SXSW Tip No. 1: You Can Rent a Top Bunk in Austin for $17
Traveling can get expensive. But if you're not nit-picky about where you sleep, you can save a bundle by planning your stops through Airbnb. If you are all about saving that dough, I've found some Airbnb sleeping spots for $20 or less, including a couple backyards for camping or the top of a bunk bed for one person.
Backyard Camping for $20 - Waco
This Waco family shares their fenced-in backyard along with the use of a full indoor bathroom for just $20 a night. They ask that you bring a tent, but can offer one up as well. There are no reviews yet on these hosts, so keep that in mind.
Bunk Bed for $17 - Austin
Here's a deal if you want to spend a cheap night in Austin - seriously just $17 per night and the host, Mackenzie, has an average rating of 4 stars out of a total 5. Sure, the sleeping experience is only 'semi' private, but you get what you pay for with a low-cost place to crash.

As always, Mackenzie's place was a pleasure to stay at. No drama, low key, relaxed vibes, and a couple of (her brother, Andrew, included) very caring, responsible hosts. Would, without a doubt, stay again.
