Shocking Video Shows Why a Texas Taco Bell is Facing $1M Lawsuit
A trip to get some fast food turned into a hospital stay for a Texas mother and daughter after they complained about their order.
Now a lawsuit has been filed against Taco Bell, alleging that a manager at a Dallas location threw boiling water on the two women after they went inside the restaurant to get the right food.
Timeline of Events at Taco Bell
The lawsuit states Brittany Davis and her daughter C.T. went through the Taco Bell drive-thru at 11829 Abrams Road in Dallas, Texas on June 17th. They received their $31 order wrong three times, so the two of them went inside the restaurant to resolve the issue.
10 minutes after that, things escalated, as you can see in this video:
Charges Against Taco Bell and Employees
WFAA is reporting that charges against the defendants and corporations named in the lawsuit include negligence for failing to protect or consider the well-being of their customers.
Lawyers for the victims are asking for more than $1 million in damages from the following defendants: Yum! Brands, Taco Bell Corp., Taco Bell of America, North Texas Bells, and the two employees allegedly involved. The employees are named in the suit as John and Jane Doe, according to WFAA.
Injuries Received in Taco Bell Incident
According to the lawsuit, C.T. removed her clothes to minimize the burning, while her mother began having seizures because of the trauma. Brittany Davis' clothes had to be cut off with the skin still attached by hospital staff and she was then care-flighted to an ICU burn unit in Dallas.
C.T. suffered severe burns to her face, chest, legs, arms, and stomach. Her mother suffered deep burns on her chest and stomach, along with significant damage to her brain function due to seizures, causing her to lose some of her memory.
