Killeen Independent School District's Career Center is preparing our kids for a big bright future by giving them the tools they need to pursue the career of their dreams.

Students are prepared for their career paths with classes focused on the following career clusters: Health Science, Arts, A/V Technology & Communications, Information Technology, Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources, Transportation, Distribution & Logistics, Architecture & Construction, Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security, Manufacturing, Human Services, Education and Training.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being invited to meet with some of the faculty members of the career center's Advisory Board and received a tour of some of the classes and work areas where the students get to work including the schools TV station and FM radio station My-95.1 KISD Radio where students get to learn all about Radio broadcasting, podcasts and other audio technology.

I have to say, as someone who came up the HARD way in this business, these kids have it good! There's also their graphic design department where students can learn how to turn their artwork into cool graphics and even make t-shirts!

There's also video game design where kids can create their own games, Photography (I met a senior who already has started her own photography business before's even GRADUATED) a salon and so much more! If you have a youngster that's getting ready to enter high school, take a tour and consider the KISD Career Center! Thank you to the teachers and staff for the amazing work that you all do.
