Target and CVS Now Requiring Masks Be Worn in Stores
Two more big retailers join the list of stores that are now requiring masks to be worn at all locations.
Target and CVS are now requiring all customers wear masks due to the increase in COVID-19 cases across the nation.
Our partners at News 10 shared the news from CVS Chief Operating Officer Jon Roberts, who said the new mask rule goes into effect Monday, July 20. The policy was posted online Thursday.
CVS already required store employees wear masks, and also encouraged customers to use them as well. Now it's going to be required.
“To be clear, we’re not asking our store employees to play the role of enforcer,” Roberts wrote. “What we are asking is that customers help protect themselves and those around them by listening to the experts and heeding the call to wear a face covering.
Target’s new policy goes into effect on August 1st. More than 1800 of their stores already require masks be worn.
Walmart and Sam's Club stores announced Wednesday that they will be requiring face coverings for all customers as well.
