UPDATE: Temple Police have made an arrest in the case of the first of two robberies of a Temple CEFCO last month.

According to a TPD press release:

Deante Hardister, a 21 year old Temple man, was arrested yesterday around 8:30 p.m. when the members of Temple Police Department Criminal Investigations Division and members of the Problem Oriented Policing Services unit served the aggravated robbery arrest warrant for Hardister in this case.  He was arrested without incident from a Temple apartment located in the 1400 block of Canyon Creek Drive.

The arrest is the result of tips from the community which provided leads as to the identity of Hardister.  The Temple P. D. investigators were able to identify Hardister through the information and evidence in this offense.  The case was presented to the Bell County District Attorney’s office which issued a complaint for aggravated robbery and Justice of the Peace Ted Duffield issued the arrest warrant for Hardister.

The Temple police department appreciates the support of our community in this investigation.   We also want to thank all of the officers who worked in solving this case.  Together, we send a strong message to those who chose to commit crimes in our city.

This arrest only covers the first robbery. The second robbery is still under investigation.

Our original story from July 1, 2014:

A Texaco convenience store in Temple was the victim of two robberies in as many days.

Police responded to a robbery report at the CEFCO store at 3805 South 31st Street Sunday around 12:34 am. When they arrived, an employee said a man entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect fled south from the crime scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate him.

Officers responded to the same store Monday after another reported robbery. Once again, a man reportedly entered the store, displayed a gun and demanded cash before fleeing south.

Police say it is unclear if the two robberies are related.

The suspect in the first robbery, pictured above in a security camera still, is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years of age, approximately 5'07", and weighing around 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black pants, a tan belt, and black shoes.

The suspect in the second robbery is described as a black male wearing a mask, a grey button down shirt, black pants, and black shoes.
