Congratulations are in order for a Temple High School powerlifter after she broke two records in her weight division.

Timmea Joiner-Hargrove competed in the Class 5A State Powerlifting Championship in Corpus Christi on March 8. There, she set two state records in the 220 lb division – one for the deadlift at 445 lbs, and a total lift record of 1050 lbs.

According to our news partner KWTX, this is the first time a student at Temple High School has set a state record in powerlifting.

Joiner-Hargrove's teammate Erica Garcia competed at the championship as well, coming in 13th place overall in the 114 lb division and finishing with a total lift of 645 lbs.

Wildcat pride for both athletes!
