No Soup For You! Temple, Texas Soup Throwing Lady Has Been Arrested
Last week, a Temple woman went to Sol De Jalisco at 4201 S. General Bruce Dr. after calling to complain that her order was too hot and had melted the plastic lid of the carry-out container.
Nothing out of the ordinary, right? You are upset with your order, so you call to complain.
After the call, the woman reportedly showed up at the restaurant and got into an argument with an employee.
What isn't ordinary is what happened next!
The exchange between the woman and the restaurant worker was all caught on camera, with the video going viral and making nationwide headlines.
The video shows the woman having what looks like a very heated discussion with a restaurant employee. She then threw the soup at the employee and walked off.
Video shared on Reddit's r/PublicFreakout shows the incident, including the moment the soup was thrown.
According to police, the woman threw the soup at an employee, then left the scene before police showed up.
Well unfortunately for her, it was caught on camera, and because of how much publicity and attention this story has received, the woman was arrested.
Amanda Nicole Martinez was taken into custody Wednesday morning and transported to Bell County Jail according to KWTX.
She was charged with assault causing bodily injury.
Martinez has also been banned from the restaurant.
At the time police began their investigation, Temple Deputy Police Chief Allen Teston told KWTX:
“We do not condone this type of behavior and hold our citizens to the highest standard, if a citizen believes they have received poor service we advise them to remain civil until the problem is resolved.”
Time will tell if Martinez has endured enough humiliation and embarrassment to learn her lesson so this doesn't happen again. Maybe others will learn from this too.
