TOUCHDOWN! Former Temple, Texas Football Player Taken In NFL Draft
The NFL Draft is something every football fan looks forward to. For a short few days, fans converge wherever the draft is located to see who their favorite team is picking to join their squad. When that player comes from the great state of Texas, it has a little bit more happiness from us here.
After all, if you're going to pick a player from any state, Texas is one of the places to find some of the best, starting in high school. We take football here seriously after all.
So when somebody from the Central Texas gets their name called on the first night, it's a moment to cheer. Yes, Bijan Robinson of the Texas Longhorns was taken by the Atlanta Falcons earlier in draft at number eight. But his football career started in Arizona technically.
But a team from California has selected one of Temple's own to don their uniform, and we couldn't be more excited.
Quentin Johnson, Former Temple Wildcat, Now Los Angeles Charger
On Thursday April 27th, 2023, Quentin Johnston had his name called to most well known football league in the nation. Drafted at 21st overall, Johnson had played 3 years at TCU before the call-up.
During his time at TCU, with help from Sports Reference on the stats, he gained 2,150 receiving yards over 115 catches. He also found himself in the endzone 14 times.
All of this is to say Central Texas will be represented well in the state of California. Of course we also have to say this:
CONGRATULATIONS QUENTIN!!!!!!
