Temple, Texas Man Arrested and Charged For…Throwing Screws on Roadways?
This is definitely not something you see everyday in terms of crime.
FOX 44 recently reported that Belton, Texas police were patrolling around West Avenue D after they called out to the area for reports of "harmful items thrown into the street." While patrolling, officers spotted one car that left behind screws in the roadway.
Police immediately followed the car and pulled over the vehicle in question. While performing the normal traffic stop, officers began to examine and investigate the car. With probable cause, officers looked further into the car and found both screws and a handgun.
The screws matched the other screws that were left on the roadway. This led to the arrest of Albert Marcish Harris of Temple. FOX 44 reports Harris was charged with Obstructing a Highway or Passageway and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon.
He was then taken to the Bell County Jail.
Looking at this whole strange case from afar, it makes me wonder one thing: Why in the world would someone just casually throw screws onto the roadway? There's just no rational reason to do so.
Obviously it's unsafe, but couldn't you also be setting yourself up to crash later? Just imagine you forget where you dropped the screws and then you run over them.
Not only were you trying to ruin someone else's day, you've ruined yours! You could say you really...screwed yourself.
But seriously, you shouldn't even think about doing this type of thing in general.
Leave throwing things on the road to Mario and friends, ok?
Maybe this is a sign for all of us to be nicer to each other on the roadway. We all certainly should be. And as the saying goes, Don't Mess with Texas. You may not think you're doing any harm by throwing garbage from your car, but besides making our roadways look hideous and harming the environment, you could also throw something that could damage a vehicle or hurt someone.
Just be a decent human being. That simple.
