Another One Gone – Texas’ Most Wanted Sex Offender Has Been Found
It is always a great feeling to know that the Texas police are watching out for us to keep us safe. Especially when there are criminals are trying to run from the law for their crimes. We've talked about many Texans that state law enforcement is trying to track down.
One of those individuals that we profiled was Erick Martinez. Erick, since his disappearance in 2021, was running from the law after warrants for his arrest were issued by the Dallas County Sheriff's Office. Texas DPS reports the crimes he was sought for were four counts of Sexual Assault of a Child and two counts of Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.
But if you end up on the Texas Most Wanted List, there is certainly more to the story.
Erick Martinez's Earlier Crimes Detailed And His Capture
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, in 2011, Martinez was found guilty of 17 counts of Sexual Assualt Of A Child, 17 counts of Indecency with a Child by Contact, Two Counts of Sexual Assault, One Count of Indecency with a Child by Exposure, and One Count of Evading Arrest with a Vehicle.
Also in 2020, Martinez was arrested for Four Counts of Sexual Assault of a Child and One Count of Failure to Comply with Sex Offender’s Registration Requirements.
Following his bonding out, Martinez disappeared from the public eye. However, Texas Authorities were not the ones that discovered Erick's whereabouts. Rather, U.S Border Patrol found him.
Texas DPS reported that the U.S Border Patrol apprehended Martinez in Lukeville, Arizona on April 4, 2023. Due to his capture not being due to a tip being provided by a Texas resident, there will not a cash reward for his capture.
So while another individual has been taken off the list, there's still many to be found, like this individual here:
