
Family Of Murder Victim Now Speaking Out Against Texas Prosecutor’s Office
Austin, Texas just had a murder suspect let loose back on the streets because their bond was reduced from $800,000 to only $100. That is not a typo, the bond went from being nearly a million dollars to only a Benjamin because the Travis County Prosecutor's Office led by Jose P. Garza couldn't read a calendar.

Understandably, some cases can be very complex with a million different moving parts, but in this circumstance, the prosecutors had basically three months to move one part, and they failed to do it. According to this KVUE article, Texas law requires an indictment for a crime must be secured with 90 days after a suspect is arrested, and because the prosecutor's office dropped the ball, the judge had no choice but to release the suspect on the reduced bond.

I can only imagine how scary that news must have been for the victim's family to learn not only is the man suspected of killing their loved one out of jail, but he was able to get out because your trust in the prosecutor's office has been betrayed. Now, multiple Travis County Prosecutor's Office cases are under review, but it certainly has to make everyone wonder just why on Earth the office and its leadership has not been doing their job to prevent travesties like this?
