Kids in tiny Dime Box, Texas will only have to attend class four days a week next school year. Becoming only the second school district in the state to stray from the traditional five day school week.

Students will have a three day weekend with Mondays being considered a "flex" day and completely optional. Teachers will still be on campus for different activities.

To make up for the lost day. The school year will be slightly longer and each day will be extended by thirty-five minutes.

If Dime Box had the success of Olfen ISD, the other district to implement the shorter week, we could see this become a trend across the state. Olfen has seen higher enrollment and an improved rating. Plus with all that potential free time in the classroom, those educators can pick up some hobbies.

STARTS MARCH 28TH (2)
