Texas students will have to learn cursive beginning this fall
When was the last time you wrote something in cursive? I know for myself it's been a long time, mainly because my cursive is trash and I'm sure you would be unable to be read anything I wrote.
If you didn't know, most Texas schools no longer require that cursive be taught like it was back in the days but that will be changing soon. According to KIII, back in 2017, the Texas Board of Education changed the requirements for the "English Language Arts and Reading" portion of the state education standards known as Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills or TEKS. Those changes are set to go into effect in the 2019-2020 school year.
One of those requirements is reintroducing cursive writing to elementary school students therefore cursive will be added back into the elementary school curriculum during the 2019-2020 school year for all Texas districts.
So get your pens ready kids, you're going to be writing "old school" soon!
