Houston, Texas authorities have released new information about an alleged terrorist attach targeting Memorial High School within the Spring Branch Independent School District that they believe was planned by two teenage girls with intention of planting pipe bombs and shooting students. The girls are reportedly 15 and 16 years old, and local authorities were tipped off to a plan they deemed credible based upon their planned being shared via social media.

One of the Texas teens was a student within Spring Branch ISD, while the other was a student at Willis High School and has apparently been arrested too, but they were being held on unrelated charges. The investigation continues, but the public has been receiving additional information as it becomes available.

New Info Says Teen Girls Planned Frightening Texas School Attack

According to this KHOU article, a letter was sent to faculty, staff, students, and parents addressing the investigation into a "potentially credible threat," by the Spring Branch Independent School District Police Department. Local Houston Federal Bureau of Investigation agents quickly became involved in the case, and determined the teenage girls were indeed planning a "mass casualty attack."

The Harris County Sheriff's Office has informed the media that they will keep the public updated as quickly and often as they can, and anyone with information to please reach out. Staying vigilant and reporting suspicious activity is always the best way to prevent an attack instead of responding after a crime happens.
