I have several friends who work in the retail industry and trust me, it can be unpredictable. Those of you in it already know. Things aren't promised even if you're working for a well-loved and established company. From Walmart to Target and even designer stores, it looks like no one is safe from downsizing.

This is just a sample of all the businesses closing locations soon. The complete list has nearly 200 different retail companies. But the news isn't all bad. So far Abilene stores are safe and show no signs of shutting down.

That means there are still plenty of great places to do your shopping in Abilene, and that's a good thing with Christmas only days away. The 12 Days of Christmas are upon us, and around this area, we celebrate a little differently. Look below and you'll see what I mean.

Everyone knows the tune to the holiday standard "The Twelve Days of Christmas." We took to Facebook and asked our listeners to change the lyrics to fit Abilene.
