Temple Bridge Over I-35 on Nugent to be Closed for 8 Months

Starting this Friday night, January 6, the Nugent Avenue bridge crossing over I-35 in Temple will be closed to traffic for the next 8 months.

TxDOT put out a press release, stating that there will be a a full mainlane closure for Saturday in order to ensure safe demolition of both the Nugent Avenue Bridge and the out-of-service Industrial Boulevard Bridge.

The Department of Transportation has advised four different detours and have provided maps so you can get to where you need to be safely this weekend. Significant delays are expected all weekend during the demolition process and it is highly recommended drivers avoid the area. See the four maps below for alternative routes.
