Holiday travel is upon us as many will take to the roads of Texas to visit loved ones for the holidays.

On the roads of Texas are the wonderful TxDoT signs that, usually, have a clever message relating to the holiday. Like this little message they left for us on Valentine's day!

I think the TxDoT signs are cute, even though I feel like sometimes they can be as distracting as reading a text!

This year, for Thanksgiving, they decided to give us some Thanksgiving related messages and one of them is a little weird. The first one, is all about that is all about controlling your speed!

Which is cute, although ever since Cardi B I cannot hear "gobble gobble" the same!

This next one, though, was enough for me to do a double take and make sure what I read was correct!

I get the mash potatoes thing, it is Thanksgiving after all, but the "your head" threw me for a loop! (Especially after a coworker just shared that she knew someone who actually did mash their head and died because of texting and driving!)

And I guess that's the whole idea of these signs; it's a message that can be covered in humor- but an important message nonetheless!

With the holidays quickly approaching, and with Blackout Wednesday A.K.A Drinksgiving just a day away, it's important to really make a plan for designated drivers. Texas is leading the way in the country for traffic fatalities- a good plan before going out is best. Get a designated driver, wear your seatbelt and don't text and drive. You really don't want to mash your head!
