Watch George Strait Read ‘Never Ask a Dinosaur to Dinner’
This is further proof that George Strait can do just about anything and Texans will be enthralled.
The King of Country music took to Facebook live Tuesday to read to the girls and boys of the Lone Star State. Today's book was Never Ask a Dinosaur to Dinner by Gareth Edwards with art by Guy Parker-Rees.
The book tells the story of a young boy who learns that his favorite animals - both prehistoric and living - probably wouldn't make the best house guests. It's sort of like If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, only crazier.
Like any good host of a children's book reading, King George makes sure to turn the book around to show off the illustrations, and he really gets into it. It's a joy to watch.
George is a father himself, so he probably had plenty of practice.
Today's reading was the latest in a series called Stars of Texas Storytime. So far, readers in the series have included:
Dallas Cowboys Executive VP Charlotte Jones
New York Giants QB and Former Texas Longhorn Colt McCoy
Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott
Governor Greg Abbott's Daughter, Audrey Abbott
Cecilia Abbott started the Stars of Texas Storytime series back in April to bring beloved children's classics to kids across Texas during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Texas' First Lady has a background in education and continues to serve on the board of a number of educational organizations, so it's only natural that she'd want to help Texas kids explore new books and instill in them a love for reading and storytelling.
