World’s Oldest 19-Year-Old Steals U-Haul, Inspires Hilarious Comments
Murad Mansurovich Kurbanov was recently arrested in Murray, Utah for allegedly fleeing from police in a stolen U-Haul, but it's not what he's accused of that's getting people's attention - it's his mug shot.
Now, my mother used to tell me that if I didn't have anything nice to say, I shouldn't say anything, and I'm no George Clooney. That said, I can't deny I did a double-take when I came across this story.
Kurbanov is 19 years old.
I know. I couldn't believe it either. And if the Facebook comments are any indication, I'm not alone. (More on that in a bit.)
The guy looks like he's seen some stuff, so maybe he wasn't so much fleeing the police as he was some Lovecraftian nightmare you and I can't comprehend and which has aged him beyond his years. For all we know, he may have been hauling some object cursed by Nyarlathotep himself, and the arresting officers just doomed the world.
Anyway, his story was shared by the folks at KUTV-TV, who report that Kurbanov was spotted running several red lights and illegally passing a vehicle in a U-Haul. When cops tried to stop him, he reportedly kept on rolling until he got to an apartment complex and tried to hide in plain sight by sitting on some steps and pretending to be waiting for a friend.
Salt Lake County Jail records indicate he was Kurbanov, a Russian-born U.S. citizen, was charged with second-degree felony theft of a rental vehicle, third-degree felony failure to stop or respond at the command of a police officer, and a count of reckless driving. He posted $10,000 bond on Christmas day.
I came across the story on KABB-TV's Facebook page, and the comments I've seen so far have been pure gold. Here are just a few gems.
And finally, what we're all probably thinking...
