9 Cartoons that Need to Be Live Action Movies
With childhood favorites like Ninja Turtles and X-Men getting the live action treatment this summer, we're compiling our wish list of cartoons that need to be rebooted for the big screen.
Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers
Think Alvin and the Chipmunks, except with a little more realistic CGI, and a way better plotline.
Gargoyles
I wasn't actually allowed to watch this show as a kid (too scary), but from the few clips I've seen, I'm surprised that this hasn't already been turned into an action movie!
The Jetson
Y'all. How has this not happened yet? Remember how awesome the Flintstones movie was? I'm thinking Jason Bateman would make the perfect George.
Doug
Whether you preferred the Disney or Nickelodeon version, we can all agree that we NEED to see Doug Funny and Patty Mayonnaise together in the flesh.
Lady Lovely Locks and the Pixie Tales
I volunteer to play Lady Lovely Locks!! If you didn't watch this show as a kid, you totally missed out. Don't worry, you can catch full episodes on youtube. (Warning: this may cause you to order pastel hair pieces online at 12am)
Carmen San Diego
Although the original gameshow and computer game surpassed the animated version, this would still make a bad-A action movie. Maybe starring Angelina Jolie or Mila Kunis as Carmen?
Captain Planet
Think campy and fun! I would love to see the Planeteers assemble! Go Planet!
The Magic School Bus
Seriously, why hasn't this been made? I would love to see a live action version of Mrs Frizzle's crazy adventures, including trips inside the human body, dinosaur days, and more!
The Archie Show
Okay, so I know there was a lame "grown up" movie version based on Archie Comics characters back in the 90's, but it technically wasn't set in the same time or world as the actual show or comics. I want to see a real teen version of the show, with Archie answering the age old question once and for all-Betty or Veronica?
Honorable Mentions:
Rainbow Brite, Rocket Power, Sonic the Hedgehog, Recess, Hey Arnold!, and Muppet Babies.
