If your heading south along the I-35 frontage road in Temple tonight there may be some slow downs due to road closures.

Folks traveling southbound on the I-35 frontage road will find it closed tonight as of 9pm between Industrial Blvd to BNSF North mile marker 303. The closure will remain in place until noon Sunday. TxDot reports that a drainage pipe is being installed.

Temple residents who live near I-35 construction sites will have a chance to get more information on upcoming phases of roadwork. District 1 Council member Tim Davis has announced he will host a open forum along with TxDot on Monday.

The event is scheduled for a 6pm start time at the Frank Mayborn Civic and Convention center. TxDot will make a presentation to bring residents up to date about the next phase of the project and its schedule. Davis hopes the event will by well attended by residents in communities largely impacted by the I-35 construction. Those neighborhoods include Bellaire North, the Historic District, NW Hills, Woodbridge Creek, and Western Hills.

The City of Temple is planning a community wide forum for September. The date is still be decided on.
