The Texas A&M Aggies put a damper on Texas State's Jake Spavital's head-coaching debut with a 41-7 victory over the Bobcats Thursday night. Spavital, the former offensive coordinator for the Aggies, watched his offense throw three interceptions in the first half alone.

The Aggies came in as a 33 and a half point favorite by My Bookie so already exceeding expectations even by the slightest. Will the Longhorns be able to pull off the same success in their season opener against Louisiana Tech Saturday night?

Texas is a 20 point favorite over the bulldogs, but have lost their last two openers.

Both teams come in the top 12 in the preseason polls. So it's not crazy to think if they did well we could see them play each other play in either the playoffs or dare I say it... the National Championship. Wow, that would be like Hank Hill and my dream of an all Texas Super Bowl.

Okay, I'm getting ahead of myself. Texas just needs to win week one first.
