Baylor University Announces Plans for Fall Semester
The president of Baylor University has issued an announcement about the upcoming fall semester.
According to a press release from Baylor University, the college is planning to bring faculty and staff back on campus for the Fall semester. The decision was made by Baylor University President Linda A. Livingstone and her council in an effort to "revive the Baylor campus and resume normal operations".
These plans are currently dependent on the demonstration of declining cases of COVID-19, as well as the green light from our local government and public health officials.
The press release further states, "We intend to safely resume in-person teaching, learning and residential life for the fall 2020 semester."
Baylor does plan to adapt to any changes that may occur swiftly, and states that the "return to on-campus work is not imminent and you need not take any action at this time – regardless of any announcements from federal, state or local officials."
The return to campus will begin in phases starting on June 1 with "faculty and staff involved with critical infrastructure and research support." The remaining four phases will occur over the remainder of the Summer.
Will Waco be ready for the return of students to Baylor University? Stay tuned and find out.
