The Baylor Bears will have a new quarter back behind center next year, as Charlie Brewer will enter the NCAA transfer portal.

It's the end of an era in Waco for the Baylor Bears. Charlie Brewer released a statement via his Twitter account saying that he is leaving Baylor.

This is surprising, as Brewer is a four year starter for the Bears and holds several Baylor football records.

According to a report from KCEN, Brewer was recruited by former Baylor Bears Head Coach Matt Rhule in his first recruiting class. Brewer had gone to Lake Travis High School and was the QB when the Bears went to their first Big 12 Championship game, the Sugar Bowl, and led the Bears to their third 11-win season in school history.

Brewer will finish his career as only the second four year starter in Baylor history and has totaled 9,700 passing yards with 65 touch downs and a 63.5 completion percentage, 1,039 rushing yards and 22 rushing touchdowns. Brewer also set the record for Baylor for most games played by a QB with 44, second most starts by a player at 39, and fourth most wins with 20.

Congrats on a nice run at Baylor.
