Boil Water Order Issued for Areas Near Temple VA Hospital

Residents in and around the 1400 block of South 6th Street in Temple are being asked to boil any water meant for human consumption after a transmission main broke late Monday afternoon.

Water customers along Avenue M, MLK and South 1st Street near the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home in particular are being urged to boil water intended for drinking, cooking or making ice. Any ice made by an automatic machine in the past 24 hours should be discarded, as well as any water run through a filtered pitcher.

The order comes after a 12-inch transmission main broke Monday afternoon.
