Bridge Demolition Requires Full Mainline Closure of I-35 Tonight In Temple
Oh boy! What's all this? Bridge Demolition is scheduled at Nugent Street and at Industrial Blvd in Temple this evening so allow extra time if you are headed through the area.
Tonight's closure will be a little different than the road work we've become used to as a full closure of both sides/directions of I-35 begins at 7pm.
Here's what you need to know if you are traveling around Temple tonight.
The fun starts tonight at 7pm. The Northbound lanes of I-35 through Temple will close from West Nugent Avenue to North Loop 363.
The Southbound lanes will close at Berger road to North Loop 363.
If you are traveling North on I-35 tonight you'll be directed off Exit 302 and continue on the access road to the next entrance ramp. Traffic will be led back onto I-35 and then led back off again by Exit 303. Vehicles will be led to the new Spur 290 intersection and back on to the I-35 mainlines by the time you get to Loop 363.
Traveling South? Southbound I-35 traffic will be detoured to Loop 363 and routed around the West side of Temple. Traffic will be in a single lane formation through the entire detour in both directions.
Drive safe and keep warm this evening. Hard to be on one of those work crews in this kind of weather. Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing by about 7 or 8pm tonight. High's Sunday should reach the mid 40's.
Bridge demolition at both locations is scheduled through early Sunday afternoon.
