Heads Up, Road Closures Coming Tonight for Central Texas Commuters
Road closures are coming tonight along I-14 that could affect your commute here in Central Texas.
Road construction, as much as we need it, it can still be a pain in the butt. The Texas Department of Transportation issued a press release announcing road closures tomorrow for portions of I-14 in Harker Heights.
A news release from the Texas Department of Transportation details the road closures set for October 26 and 27th in Harker Heights from 7p to 7a. I-14 will be closed from Indian Trail to Rosewood Drive in both directions, as will the FM 2410 bridge. Crews will be putting up the girders along the closed route.
As detailed in the news release, traffic on I-14 heading westbound will be directed to exit Indian Trail (Exit 289) and continue traveling on the frontage road. Traffic heading eastbound will be directed to exit FM 2410 (Exit 288) and continue traveling on the frontage road. Traffic heading north or southbound on FM 2410 will be directed to the frontage road.
The work will continue on Wednesday night as well weather permitting.
The good news is that the Texas Department of Transportation is doing the work in the overnight hours as to not slow down morning and evening commutes.
Please remember to follow all road safety rules while driving through this work zone. Slow down, pay attention, eliminate all distractions, and watch for road crews.
