Centex MLK Events in Killeen and Cove

Martin Luther King Jr. day is being observed across Central Texas today with events in Killeen and Copperas Cove.

The Killeen Daily Herald is reporting the following events will be open to the public in observance of the day.

Trinity Baptist Church is hosting a breakfast this morning that starts at 10 AM. The event is open to the public and will feature a panel discussing opportunities for diversity in Bell County.

The Martin Luther King Jr. March is going on this morning with the Killeen Branch of the NAACP. The March ends at city hall with community outreach activities.

In Copperas Cove the community will gather at 2 PM at Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church for a celebration hosted by the Copperas Cove Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Committee.

The KDH also reports the following businesses are closed January 15th. 

• Killeen Municipal offices will be closed today along with the transfer station and recycling station.
• Copperas Cove city facilities will be closed today including the solid waste transfer station.
• Harker Heights municipal offices will also be closed today.
