Central Texas 2022 Review: The Most Interesting Stories Of The Year
The year of 2022 continued the growth of the area of Central Texas. With more individuals moving to the state, there were many new Texans introduced to what the area has to offer. That includes me, who first moved to the area in April of this year.
Throughout the year however, there were many stories in Central Texas that left us with more questions than answers. Some left us laughing, while others made us simply wonder, "Why?" With all that said, these are stories that we believed were the most interesting that took place in Central Texas.
Temple Beef Bandits
Even the Easter Bunny was shocked to see the video of these two individuals hurryingly trying to steal meat from H-E-B. Totaling nearly $2000, the individuals were found, but in the beginning, none of us could actually believe the video we saw.
Prop A In Harker Heights Passed And Then Overturned
The saga of Prop A had many eyes on it in Harker Heights. First passed by the residents of Harker Heights, then overturned due to conflict with state laws, the ordinance remains up in the air going into 2023.
Brandon Wayne Hogan's Disappearance
The escaped convict, who at the time of writing is still at large, has disappeared from the public since fleeing from custody in September of 2022. The search for him continues on into 2023.
Fire At Robinson Family Farm
An unexpected fire at Robinson Family Farm left many without cars or personal belongings. Thankfully, no one was injured or harmed in the blaze. It did however make headlines across the state.
Hocus Pocus 2 Will Harm You
Central Texas became the talk of the nation when one mom from Troy made a bold claim about the film. One statement from the mother when interviewed by KWTX, Jamie Gooch, even included the thought that “Everybody thinks it’s fake and innocent, but they could be casting any type of spell that they want to, anything could be coming through that TV screen into your home.”
Temple Soup Thrower Justice Continues To Simmer
While this story originally occurred 2021, the case itself continued on into 2022. Due to numerous delays, many await an update to this almost unbelievable incident. Amanda Martinez, the individual accused in question, had her trial delayed into 2023.
