A backyard barbecue in Central Texas is all about the experience, not just the brisket and beer. And the right country music playlist is the best way to set the experience. The right playlists can turn a regular backyard barbecue into an unforgettable experience, whether you are slow smoking ribs in Salado or serving up burgers in Belton.

Modern Country Bangers to Kick Things Off

You will want to start off strong using some modern party starters first. Luke Combs' "Beer Never Broke My Heart" and Sam Hunt's "Body Like a Back Road" will keep everybody excited while the grill warms up. Try adding some Cody Johnson or Parker McCollum to add some local Texas flair, you will not go wrong playing either one of these guys and when you tie the moment back into it being surrounded by your Texas friends that is special in itself.

Texas Artists to Keep It Local

You will also want to include some well-known songs that everyone can sing along with. Songs that will never go out of style like Reba's "Fancy," Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places," or George Strait's "Amarillo By Morning." Some of these songs will surface the good feelings that get everybody going and lead them back to everyone's first concert where Uncle Larry got too close at the fire pit!

Classic Country Crowd-Pleasers

When the sun goes down and bellies are full, change it up and throw out some slower jams. Some of my favorites include "Tennessee Whiskey" by Chris Stapleton and "Blue Ain't Your Color" by Keith Urban. These songs are perfect after a few helpings of BBQ and are just simply awesome.

Cool It Down as the Sun Goes Down

Finally, you will want to end on a high note. The songs "Toes" from the Zac Brown Band or "Save it for a Rainy Day" by Kenny Chesney are great ways to wrap up conversation, put a smile on everybody's face, and leave them wanting more.

In short, great food fills the stomach but great music fills the soul. So prepare your playlist well for another great BBQ to remember!
