Class Suspended At Spring Valley Elementary After Smoke Found Inside Building

KWTX reports that officials with Midway ISD have dismissed students at Spring Valley Elementary this morning after firefighters found smoke in the building.

A spokesperson from MISD said school employees found the smoke when they entered the building around 7:15am this morning. The source of the smoke could not immediately be found.

There are over 500 students who attend class on the campus each day. Today was scheduled to be an early dismissal day at Spring Valley Elementary and the students would have been dismissed at 12pm.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the smoke in the building. Tracy Marlin with MISD said no employees or students will be allowed back in the building until an investigation has been concluded.
