Construction on Temple Road May Last 7 Months
A portion of a road in Temple will be temporarily closed for construction.
According to a press release from the City of Temple, part of Old Howard road will be closed for construction starting Wednesday, April 29.
The construction will create a closure between Central Pointe Parkway and McLane Parkway, and a detour will route Southbound traffic along Corporate Way while Northbound traffic will be detoured at Central Pointe Parkway.
The good news about the construction? Old Howard road will be improved under the city's Outer Loop project.
The bad news? Construction is currently estimated to take 7 months.
If you've lived in Central Texas long enough, then you know that construction is never truly finished, and of course the construction to this road is part of a larger project
The Outer Loop project will reduce congestion on roadways, and connect to Interstate 35 in North and South Temple. The project will also take part in phases, and as we can see, just one phase is expected to take over half a year.
Safe driving out there!
