The City Of Copperas Cove announced in a press release today that they have hired Mr. Eddie Wilson, who has been with the department since 1989, as Chief Of Police. Mr. Wilson has been serving as Interim Chief Of Police since April and will take over full time beginning Saturday Dec. 10th.

Chief Wilson was born in South Korea and came to Copperas Cove as a military dependent in 1973. He graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1985 and afterwards, attended Central Texas College while majoring in Criminal Justice. Chief Wilson joined the Copperas Cove Police Department in 1989 and attended the Central Texas Regional Police Academy where he graduated at the top of his class.
During his career, Chief Wilson has worked at every rank within the department until
promoting to Deputy Chief in 2012 including serving as a Detective, SWAT team commander, and police instructor among other positions throughout his 30 year career with the City Of Copperas Cove.
