Copperas Cove Needs Volunteers for March 6 Waterway Cleanup
If you're looking for an opportunity to volunteer and help keep Copperas Cove clean and beautiful, they could really use your help next Saturday, March 6.
Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful is teaming up with Keep Texas Beautiful, H-E-B, and Giovanni's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria for a Keep Texas Waterways Clean Day.
If you're interested in getting involved and helping clean up waterways in your hometown, all you have to do is plan to meet up with organizers at Giovanni's, 115 W Hwy 190, by 8AM Saturday, March 6. Giovanni's will provide coffee and donuts to get you energized, and organizers will check you in and assign you an area that could use some TLC.
The event will be held from 8AM-10AM, so if you want to put a Saturday morning to good use, plan to be there. Cleanup supplies will be provided, so all you need to bring is a positive attitude and enthusiasm for making Copperas Cove a better place to live for you, your neighbors, and even wildlife.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, organizers ask that you please wear a mask when in close proximity to other volunteers, and that you maintain a safe distance when possible.
If you have any questions or concerns, Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful Executive Director Roxanne Flores-Achmad would be happy to talk with you at (254) 547-4221 ext. 6704 or rflores-achmad@copperascovetx.gov.
A special thank you to everyone organizing the event, folks who'll volunteer, and Giovanni's for being the HQ, plus the breakfast and coffee hookup. Hey, if you're going to be out cleaning up your town on a Saturday morning, you'll definitely need a caffeine buzz and some sugar.
