The Copperas Cove Police Department is asking for the public's help finding a man suspected of shooting a woman multiple times on New Year's Eve.

Around 12:26 PM today, Copperas Cove PD officers responded to reports of a gunshot victim in the 100 block of East Avenue A. Upon arrival, they found a woman with several gunshot wounds. She was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple. Police did not comment on her condition.

Police have identified Calvin Lee Jackson Jr. as the suspect in this case. He reportedly fled the scene of the shooting in a tan colored Cadillac with chrome rims. A warrant has been issued for his arrest, charging him with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Family Violence.

Police say Calvin Lee Jackson Jr. should be considered armed and dangerous.

Again, this suspect is considered armed and dangerous, so please do not approach him or try to apprehend or detain him. If you run across him and sense you may be in danger, call 9-1-1. Otherwise, get to a safe location and contact CCPD or CC Crime Stoppers.
