Delicious and Delightful Inclusive Coffee Shop Is Opening Soon In Central Texas
A coffee shop with roots in North Carolina is opening their 10th location in Waco soon, and what's really got people buzzing is the way it'll operate.
According to a report from Bitty & Beau's Coffee, a franchise store will soon be opening a new location at 215 S. University Parks Drive.
While you may be thinking this is just your average coffee shop, you'd be wrong. Bitty & Beau's coffee is actually a shop run by employees with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Bitty & Beau’s Coffee offers more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee - they offer an experience not only for the customers, but the employees as well.
The Waco location is currently hiring for the following positions:
- Cashier
- Drink Maker
- Caller/Greeter
- Part-time Shift Supervisor
If you or someone you know is interested in the above positions, register here to attend the hiring fair in Waco on Saturday, August 7 from 10 AM to 12 PM OR 2 PM to 4 PM at the Hilton Waco, 113 S University Parks Dr.
In January 2016, founder and CEO Amy Wright opened the original Beau’s Coffee in a 500 square foot space in Wilmington, NC. Amy is the proud mother of 4 children, two of whom have down's syndrome - Bitty and Beau. Amy is an advocate for the value, inclusion, and acceptance of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
When Amy became aware that over 80% of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are unemployed nationwide, she knew she had to make a change. Thus, Beau's Coffee was created. Just a few months after the initial opening of Beau's Coffee, the shop was renamed Bitty & Beau’s Coffee at older brother Beau's request.
Fast forward 5 years, and now Bitty & Beau's coffee has expanded to 19 locations in over 11 states!
Welcome to Central Texas, guys.
