Fort Worth F-16s Visit Fort Hood
If you are on the west side of Fort Hood this week, get ready for a ruckus. Fort Hood officials say live-fire exercises are scheduled through Wednesday on the Clabber Creek and Jack Mountain ranges on the west side of the post.
According to the Temple Daily Telegram, the live fire portions of the training are scheduled to occur between midnight to 6 a.m. and noon to 6 p.m. each day. That doesn’t mean there will be live fire each day but if it does happen, those are the hours to expect it. Air Force F-16s from the 457th Fighter Squadron in Fort Worth will be at Ford Hood Monday but they will not use live rounds.
First Cavalry Division’s 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team will conduct the exercise that will include Abrams and Bradley tanks, 120mm mortars and Paladin howitzers. Apache helicopters will also make an appearance.
