News 10 is reporting that an overnight crash on I-35 near Waco sent 5 people to a local hospital.

KWTX said, "The initial crash in the southbound lanes on the Waco Drive bridge involved a fuel tanker, the Waco Fire Department said. Two victims had to be freed from the wreckage, the fire department tweeted."

Traffic on the southbound side of I-35 was backed up due to the crash. Authorities and TxDOT advised travelers on the major Central Texas Highway to expect major delays.

Authorities are yet to have released any more information on the condition of the car crash victims or the cause of the crash.

The crash comes hours after rain hit Central Texas. Weather is expected to remain wet throughout the next couple of days.

Be safe and give yourself extra time to break, especially when at highway speeds.
